19th Annual Stepping Out for the Angels recap

Thank you to all the attendees, sponsors, volunteers and donors who made the 19th Annual Stepping Out for the Angels auction the most successful to date! Over 500 guests filled the River City Casino & Hotel and enjoyed an evening of gourmet eats, festive cocktails, gorgeous and fun Moulin Rouge decor, a plethora of silent and live auction items, live French entertainment and a moving presentation by our Angels’ Arms youth! All of the Angels’ Arms house parents were in attendance and received a touching standing ovation. Special thanks to our emcee Heidi Glaus for joining us, and kudos to Event Chairman Tom Hartnagel for pulling off another magnificent event for the 19th year in a row! The Spirit of St. Louis Women’s Fund interviewed our Founder and Executive Director as a part of their Grantee Profiles. We are so grateful they continually support our Life Launch program, which helps the youth ages 14-21 living in our homes. Anthony D’Amato Concert

On Friday November 8th (doors open at 7:30 p.m.), singer and songwriter Anthony D’Amato will be preforming at Undivided Wealth Management in Chesterfield MO. All proceeds from the concert will benefit Angels’ Arms! For more information and tickets, click here




Circle 7 Ranch/ Tito’s fundraiser

From November 15th – December 15th, Circle 7 Ranch has partnered with Tito’s Handmade Vodka to benefit Angels’ Arms all month long! For a whole month, $1 from every Tito’s drink sold will go directly to Angels’ Arms! More information about this will become available November 1st!

Did you know that you can make your charitable dollars ($1,000 and up) stretch further by using Missouri state tax credits for contributions to Angels’ Arms? You can donate twice as much, at less out-of-pocket expense to you!

**IRA Charitable Rollover Donations to Angels’ Arms
If you are 70 1/2 or older, you can make tax-free donations from your IRA to Angels’ Arms.    

Benefits to donors:
– Funds rolled over directly from your IRA account to Angels’ Arms will not be recognized as gross income for federal tax purposes. Keep in mind, the funds transferred also will not qualify for a charitable deduction.
– If you have not yet taken your required minimum distribution, you can satisfy your required minimum distribution in whole or in part by having the funds transferred directly from your IRA to Angels’ Arms.
– The funds can be used to satisfy a pledge or to make a new gift to Angels’ Arms. (Unfortunately, the law does not permit the funds to be used to establish a charitable gift annuity or other planned gift.)

Bar Bounce 2019 Recap

We had such an amazing time on Saturday at our 14th Annual Soulard Bar Bounce! There were over 1,000 bouncers on over 70 different teams with each team having a different shirt color! Thank you all for coming out and helping to raise OVER $52,000 for the foster children living in Angels’ Arms homes. St. Louis is an amazing community! Bar Bounce Information!!

Hello all you wonderful Bar Bouncers; there are over 900 of YOU!! Wow, there’s going to be a lot of people bouncing around Soulard on October 5th. Before the fun begins, there are a few steps of preparation.

  1. Read the Bar Bounce 2019 FAQs and make sure all of your team members have read and signed the Bar Bounce Waiver 2019
  2. Make sure your team captain knows they have to pick up your packet (including t-shirts, route, etc.) from Great Grizzly Bear on Wednesday (10/2) or Thursday (10/3) from 5 to 8 P.M.
    • These are the ONLY days and time slots you will be able to pick up your teams t-shirts and packet. Packets and t-shirts will NOT be available on the day of the Bar Bounce. No exceptions!
  3. On the day of the event, go straight to the first bar on your route. Sometimes, it helps to meet your group before and all come together.
  4. Don’t forget to use #BarBounce2019 for all of your posts and photos! We can’t wait to see everyone out there!

Can You Help with our Silent Auction?

With our largest fundraiser only two months away, we want to keep everything smooth sailing. This year, we are trying to get our silent auction baskets done early, but we could use some help!


Do you frequent Home Goods, Hobby Lobby, TJ Maxx or Target?

We need items to complete our baking and home decor baskets. Anything from kitchen utensils, pots/pans, serving platters/dishes, dish towels, etc. would be a great addition. Also, any home decor items such as frames, candles, throw blankets/pillow and lamps would work. Check the clearance aisles!

Are you animal lover and frequent local pet stores/boutiques?

Help us build awesome doggy/kitty baskets with items such as leashes, bowls, food, tags, crates, accessories, grooming certificates, etc.

Not a shopper but you are a season ticket holder of Cardinals, Blues, Mizzou, Billikens tickets?

We could use tickets to complete some of our sports baskets. If you are willing to donate a pair of your tickets for the 2019/2020 seasons, we would LOVE that! All donations are tax deductible.

The deadline to enter the raffle by donating anything to the auction is September 20th! Please have any and all contributions to us by that date in order to ensure the item(s) will be included in the baskets! Can’t get to the store to look for items? No worries! We have an Amazon Wish List for items we need for the auction; just a couple clicks, and you’ve helped more than you can imagine!
